Senior Buyer – Ingredients

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Buyer to join a fast‑growing international procurement team based in Reigate. The role will focus on sourcing ingredients globally, building strong supplier partnerships and supporting a dynamic supply‑chain operation.

Key responsibilities

• Source and evaluate products from worldwide suppliers to meet customer specifications while optimising cost, quality and lead times.
• Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing and sustainability standards.
• Collaborate with logistics and operations to manage imports, customs and on‑time delivery.
• Support customer tenders with pricing analysis, market insights and procurement data.
• Maintain purchase orders, procurement administration and accurate documentation.
• Work with demand planning to guarantee stock availability and supply continuity.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Monitor supplier performance and nurture long‑term relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in FMCG, food, manufacturing, retail or a similar product‑focused environment.
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship‑management abilities.
• Commercially astute with a proactive, solution‑focused mindset.
• Excellent organisational, planning and time‑management capabilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience of international sourcing, imports and shipping processes is advantageous.
