Senior Buyer

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Senior Buyer to join a specialist engineering business in the Essex area. You will help rationalise the general commercial purchasing function and ensure continuity of operations through effective procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Place purchase orders with an established range of suppliers and monitor timely delivery.
• Maintain and update the computerised inventory control system.
• Allocate purchase order numbers correctly and keep accurate records.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify ad‑hoc equipment or supply requirements.
• Support the rationalisation of the commercial purchasing function.

Required profile

• Proven experience purchasing high‑volume products in a safety‑critical environment.
• Extensive experience managing a computerised inventory control system.
• Strong understanding of supplier management and order processing.
• Ability to work autonomously and coordinate with multiple internal teams.
