Senior Care Assistant

About the role

The Senior Care Assistant will lead a team in delivering safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care to residents at Buchanan Lodge Care Home in Bearsden, Glasgow. You will ensure each shift runs smoothly, with care organised, consistent and of a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and support care assistants to provide compassionate daily care.
• Oversee medication administration and ensure compliance with training.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing, respond to changes and maintain safety.
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate effectively with families and healthcare professionals.
• Coordinate shift activities to ensure a well‑organised, consistent service.

Required profile

• SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
• Medication administration training with demonstrated competency.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is advantageous.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.
