Senior Care Worker – Children’s Respite Care Lead

About the role

Cherry Trees is seeking a confident and compassionate Senior Care Worker to lead a dedicated team delivering high‑quality respite care for children and young adults with complex disabilities. You will work on a rota‑based schedule, including sleep‑in and weekend duties, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the care team on a daily basis.
• Plan and facilitate engaging activities tailored to each child’s needs.
• Maintain smooth daily routines and oversee sleep‑in duty.
• Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding, medication administration, documentation, and emergency procedures.
• Mentor staff and promote positive relationships with families and colleagues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior or shift‑lead roles within children’s disability or health‑care settings.
• Strong organisational abilities and a child‑centred approach.
• Commitment to dignity, independence, and putting the child first.
• Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship offered).
