Senior Carer – Residential Care Home (Night Shift)

About the role

As a Residential Senior Carer you will look after the diverse needs of residents in a Barchester care home, delivering quality, person‑centred support. The role is night‑only and includes leading a team of care staff, overseeing training, supervisions and shift duties while ensuring medication is administered safely and care plans are kept up to date.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of care staff during night shifts.
• Provide training, conduct supervisions and delegate duties.
• Administer and order medication for residents.
• Review, update and maintain resident care plans and risk assessments.
• Liaise with GPs, district nursing teams and families.
• Promote a warm, welcoming and dignified environment for all residents.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care.
• Previous experience in a residential care setting.
• Proven team‑leadership abilities and sound decision‑making.
• Compassionate, warm‑hearted and committed to individualised resident care.
