Senior Carpenter – Restoration Specialist

About the role

Join Mitchell & Dickinson’s skilled operations team as a Senior Carpenter Craftsperson. You will work on restoring and improving period homes, focusing on high‑quality timber joinery and energy‑efficiency upgrades. The role offers varied, rewarding projects across Hertford and the South East.

Key responsibilities

• Restore and refurbish timber casement windows, sash windows and doors.
• Carry out repairs such as replacing cills, glazing, sash re‑weighting and timber restoration.
• Install specialist secondary glazing systems and invisible draught‑proofing solutions.
• Build and fit hardwood frames and bespoke joinery components.
• Complete loft, under‑floor and roof insulation installations where required.
• Perform painting and decorating associated with restoration works.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, site cleanliness and customer care.
• Load and unload tools and materials, and maintain company vehicles and equipment.
• Work safely at height using appropriate access equipment.

• Authorized to work in the United Kingdom.

What we offer

• Salary £29,000‑£35,000 per year, dependent on experience.
