Senior Category Manager - Logistics Procurement

About the role

ASDA is transforming its procurement function and seeks a Senior Category Manager to lead a significant logistics spend portfolio, covering transport, warehousing, distribution, fleet, home delivery and supply chain services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies across the Logistics portfolio.
• Lead complex sourcing projects, tenders and significant commercial negotiations to deliver cost optimisation and value creation opportunities.
• Ensure robust commercial governance, risk management and supplier compliance.
• Analyse spend, market trends and supplier capabilities to inform decision‑making.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations to understand business priorities and deliver commercial solutions.
• Play a key role in ASDA's Procurement Transformation Programme.
• Support the delivery of strategic logistics, transportation and supply chain initiatives across the ASDA network.

Required profile

• Significant experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Category Management.
• Strong commercial negotiation and contract management expertise.
• Experience managing complex, high‑value supplier relationships.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders within large organisations.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced transformation environment.
