Senior Children's Home Residential Support Worker

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a newly opening children’s home in Wallasey. You will provide live‑in care and emotional support to children and teenagers with challenging behaviour, helping them develop life‑skills for a brighter future.

Key responsibilities

• Assist children with daily routines including breakfast, dressing, school drop‑offs, washing, meals and bedtime.
• Provide a stable, loving environment and emotional support throughout the day and night shifts.
• Support children’s learning and personal development, encouraging positive behaviour.
• Maintain accurate records of care activities and incidents.
• Work a roster of two consecutive 24‑hour shifts followed by four days off.

Required profile

• Residence in or around Wallasey.
• Full UK driving licence (vehicle preferred, house car available).
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (or working towards it).
• Previous experience working in a children’s residential setting.

Required skills

• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ Level 3 (or commitment to obtain).

What we offer

• Hourly rate £15.94 (with Level 3) or £15.33 (without).
• £60 per sleep‑in shift.
• 224 hours of annual holiday plus extra days after two years.
• Bank holidays paid at 1.5×.
