Senior Civil Engineer – River Infrastructure

About the role

Kier Design is seeking a Senior Engineer to join its Structural and Geotechnical – Civils River Infrastructure team in Bristol. You will lead the technical delivery of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring designs meet client expectations, regulatory standards and Kier’s internal procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil infrastructure design delivery for river and hydraulic projects.
• Review and challenge technical briefs to ensure clarity, quality and compliance.
• Support fee proposals, project planning and monitor progress, budgets and programme performance.
• Provide day‑to‑day guidance to design engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver value‑engineering and innovative solutions to improve project outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified civil engineer, Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated (MICE) or working towards chartership.
• Experience in river engineering or hydraulic structures.
• Proven ability to lead design delivery and manage technical risk.
• Full UK driving licence.
