Senior Civils Project Manager - Water Sector

About the role

We are partnering with a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor to find a Senior Civils Project Manager who will lead complex water infrastructure projects across the South West. You will be responsible for delivering technically challenging schemes such as pipelines, shafts, tunnelling and related works.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of civil engineering projects from pre‑construction to completion.
• Manage pipelines, shaft sinking, tunnelling and underground infrastructure works.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate site teams, engineers, subcontractors and specialist contractors.
• Develop construction methodologies, sequencing plans and delivery strategies.
• Monitor programme performance and implement recovery plans when required.
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Work with commercial teams on cost control, forecasting and change management.
• Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements, specifications and quality standards.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven senior project leadership experience in underground water infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of pipelines, shaft sinking, tunnelling and deep excavation.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex construction methodologies.
• Excellent understanding of health, safety and quality standards.
