Senior Claims Adjuster – Construction & Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Claims Adjuster to join a specialist insurance business’s Construction & Engineering claims team in London. You will own a technically diverse portfolio of both first‑party and third‑party losses, handling UK and international matters from notification through to resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Construction & Engineering claims, including CAR/EAR and project‑based losses.
• Handle first‑party damage and third‑party liability claims across domestic and overseas markets.
• Review policy wording, contracts and technical reports to define claim strategy.
• Collaborate with external advisers such as loss adjusters, solicitors, engineers, brokers and TPAs.
• Set and adjust reserves accurately based on exposure and emerging information.
• Support negotiations and settlements on complex technical issues.
• Maintain high‑quality claim records, data integrity and reporting standards.
• Contribute to process improvements and portfolio insights.

Required profile

• Strong background in Construction & Engineering claims, preferably with CAR/EAR experience.
• Exposure to both first‑party and third‑party liability within this class.
• Familiarity with London market, company market or specialty insurance environments.
• Proven ability to work with brokers, adjusters, lawyers and other external parties.
• Confident in managing technical files, reserves and stakeholder communication.
