Senior Claims Handler – Care Claims Team

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Claims Handler to join Avencia Consulting’s Care Claims team in Leeds. The role offers ownership of complex, multi‑line claims and the chance to influence strategy while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload covering Employers’ Liability, Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Personal Injury, Management Liability, Cyber & Commercial Crime, and sensitive safeguarding matters.
• Take claims from initial notification through to settlement, developing and driving individual claim strategies.
• Collaborate with policyholders, brokers, and solicitors, handling high‑value and occasionally high‑profile claims.
• Build strong customer relationships and deliver favourable outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in claims handling or a legal background (solicitor or legal executive).
• Exposure to Employers’ Liability, Public Liability or other liability claims.
• Experience with personal injury or professional negligence claims.
• Ability to manage complex cases independently and make sound decisions.
• Strong communication and decision‑making abilities.
