Senior Client Onboarding Officer

About the role

Fieldfisher is seeking a Senior Client Onboarding Officer to join its Risk & Compliance team in Manchester on a fixed‑term basis. The role supports the firm’s client acceptance process, anti‑money‑laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance framework, and may include conflict‑of‑interest checks after training.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct AML screening and risk assessments, ensuring high‑quality, accurate work products.
• Provide quality‑control feedback, supervise and develop junior onboarding staff.
• Manage stakeholder queries and service‑level issues at partner and fee‑earner level.
• Deliver internal training sessions as business needs arise.
• Escalate team management matters and support continuous improvement of onboarding processes.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Law or a related discipline (preferred) or equivalent transferable experience.
• Proven experience in AML/KYC compliance within a commercial services or global law‑firm environment.
• Strong regulatory knowledge of AML/CFT/ABC, including international screening and risk‑assessment of complex corporate structures.
• Ability to operate confidently in a fast‑paced, international setting with nuanced local frameworks.
