Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a global manufacturing company in Birmingham. The role is hands‑on, focusing on Microsoft Azure, networking, infrastructure and security, and offers a hybrid working model with three days on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services, including networking, security, governance and performance.
• Manage enterprise networking components such as routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs and WAN connectivity.
• Administer Microsoft Intune and Entra ID environments and support SSO and enterprise application registrations.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automate tasks with PowerShell.
• Support Azure DevOps deployment pipelines and maintain SQL Server and Azure‑based data services.
• Act as senior technical escalation point for cloud, infrastructure and network issues and contribute to cyber‑security initiatives.
• Lead technical projects, produce documentation and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft Azure environments and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Strong networking knowledge covering routing, switching, VPNs, WAN and firewall technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID and Single Sign‑On configurations.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
