Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS/GCP)

About the role

Ensono's Public Cloud Product Engineering team works with Product Management to build standard cloud services and solutions that can be sold repeatedly to managed service customers. You will join a small, friendly, Agile-based team and help define and evolve public cloud standards, implement new tools, onboard AWS and GCP services and act as a subject matter expert for other teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Product Engineering epics and stories
• Operationalise new repeatable public cloud services and solutions
• Define and evolve technical standards for repeatability, supportability, scalability and security
• Recommend technical stacks through research, assessments, bake-offs and proof of concepts
• Assess and onboard new AWS and GCP services to the product roadmap
• Deploy automated infrastructure using IAC, configuration management and scripting
• Advise pre-sales architects on technical standards and support the cloud operations team on major issues
• Keep up to date with public cloud services and technology

Required profile

• 8+ years supporting customer-focused, mission-critical environments
• 5+ years architecting, engineering or supporting public cloud on AWS or GCP
• Knowledge of AWS or GCP best practice, security and architectural patterns
• Multiple current AWS or Google Cloud certifications (or equivalent knowledge)
• Degree in a computing-related discipline preferred
• Self-motivated, able to work without close supervision and share knowledge clearly

Required skills

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Configuration management (Ansible)
• Linux (RHCE or equivalent)
• Python, Perl or Bash scripting
• Git and AWS/GCP CLI
• Containerised environments (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes/Docker) and CI/CD (Jenkins) useful
• ITIL and Agile experience beneficial
