Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

About the role

Barings is seeking a senior Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of cloud and hybrid solutions across its portfolio. The role will work closely with business application, security and engineering teams to ensure alignment with the firm’s cloud‑first strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Act as an incubator for modernising applications, technical and security services through cloud‑native solutions.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture to build a scalable, automated, and highly available cloud platform.
• Define and document cloud service security baselines aligned with frameworks such as CIS, CSA and ISO 27001.
• Develop repeatable cloud service patterns and drive migration from legacy platforms to public cloud services.
• Recommend tools and methodologies to support cloud operations and implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
• Collaborate with development, cyber‑security, support and architecture teams to deliver and maintain cloud platforms using DevOps practices.
• Decompose large systems into manageable components and ensure robust monitoring with service‑level objectives.

Required profile

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure products and capabilities.
• Proven experience with cloud service models (PaaS, Serverless, Containerisation) and hybrid environments.
• Demonstrated ability to design fault‑tolerant, scalable and secure systems.
• Experience working in DevOps teams within mission‑critical settings.
