Senior Commercial Account Handler

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Account Handler to join a growing commercial insurance brokerage in Chester. You will manage a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, guiding them from initial enquiry through placement, renewal and ongoing service, while supporting the wider account team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, delivering high‑quality service.
• Support Account Executives with larger accounts and complex renewals.
• Arrange new business, renewals and mid‑term adjustments, preparing quotations and policy documents.
• Assess client information to identify insurance requirements and negotiate terms with insurer partners.
• Explain policy cover and terms to clients and handle enquiries promptly.
• Assist clients through the claims process when required.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with FCA and other regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to generate additional commercial business.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial insurance broking (essential).
• Good understanding of commercial insurance products.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
• Proactive, client‑focused attitude.
