Senior Commercial Manager – Defence Technology

About the role

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead full‑lifecycle commercial contracts within a defence technology environment. The role involves supporting new bids, negotiating contracts, managing changes and handling post‑signature activities, with a hybrid working model based in Plymouth.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with bid and programme management functions to develop commercial strategies.
• Deliver innovative commercial solutions to support winning bids and business activities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, building strong relationships.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Lead contract negotiations, change management and post‑signature activities, including dispute resolution.
• Improve contract management processes and governance.

Required profile

• Extensive commercial contract management experience, preferably in defence, space or technology.
• Expertise across the full contract lifecycle: bids, negotiations, changes, and close‑out.
• Experience with MOD and export bids.
• Leadership qualities and ability to provide commercial governance.
• Eligibility for DV level security clearance.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Plymouth 1‑2 days per week.
