Senior Commercial Manager – Major Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery of the Sizewell C nuclear power project, one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programmes. The role will combine contract administration, cost optimisation and stakeholder engagement across large‑scale civil and engineering works.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial management of major design programmes within heavy civils and large‑scale engineering projects.
• Administer NEC3 and NEC4 PSC and bespoke Sizewell C contracts, ensuring compliance and effective delivery.
• Prepare and maintain commercial documentation such as early warning notices, compensation events and programme submissions.
• Draft position papers, author change events and produce commercial reports to support project decisions.
• Mentor Commercial Managers and Assistant Commercial Managers, building capability within the commercial function.
• Engage senior stakeholders and clients, providing clear advice and updates.
• Contribute to strategic commercial planning and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering major programmes valued between £10 m and £100 m+, preferably in heavy civils or large‑scale engineering.
• Deep understanding of construction technology, cost drivers and supply‑chain management.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to take ownership of challenges and deliver solutions from start to finish.
