Senior Commercial Manager – Major Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead commercial activities on major, high‑value development projects. Reporting to the Project Director, you will oversee procurement, contract management and commercial reporting from early market engagement through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for demolition, enabling works and main contractor packages.
• Manage contractor and consultant appointments, ensuring robust governance and risk management.
• Conduct supply‑chain market testing to support budget development and cost control.
• Produce commercial reports for senior stakeholders and maintain contract specifications.
• Collaborate with master developer packages, partner interfaces and consultants to align commercial insight with business objectives.
• Contribute to functional strategy, budget planning and cost control across a portfolio of procurement programmes.

Required profile

• Significant experience in commercial management within a developer, contractor or consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of residential and mixed‑use schemes.
• Degree‑level education or equivalent; RICS or CIOB qualification preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and residence in England or Wales for the duration of employment.
