Senior Commercial Operations Director - Northern Region

About the Role

We are seeking a high-caliber Commercial Operations Director to spearhead our Northern Region operations. Based in Glasgow, this is a pivotal leadership position within a Private Equity-backed facilities management and engineering services provider, offering the opportunity to drive significant operational excellence and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Full P&L accountability for the Northern region, managing two key operational hubs in Manchester and Newcastle with a combined turnover of £6M-£7M.
• Drive operational performance across all contracts, focusing on both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Ensure strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to maintain service excellence.
• Lead, mentor, and develop multi-disciplinary teams, including Contract Managers, Supervisors, and Engineers.
• Champion a robust Health & Safety culture across all sites and operations.
• Strengthen client relationships and proactively identify new business opportunities to drive regional revenue growth.
• Implement structured processes to optimize operational efficiency and scalability.

Candidate Profile

• Proven track record in a senior leadership role within the Facilities Management (Hard FM) sector.
• Extensive experience in multi-site management and full P&L responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to turn around underperforming operations and implement continuous improvement.
• Strong expertise in managing SLAs, KPIs, and complex service contracts.
• Experience in industrial, logistics, or critical infrastructure environments is highly advantageous.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
