Senior Construction Buyer

About the role

DarcyBrook Procurement & Supply are seeking a Senior Construction Buyer to support a leading construction company in London. The role focuses on sourcing electrical, mechanical and other construction materials, managing the full procurement cycle and ensuring cost‑effective delivery to project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and send RFQs to suppliers, generate cost sheets and return them to the sales team.
• Oversee creation of technical datasheets and ensure documentation complies with internal QA standards.
• Collaborate with sales to confirm quoted products meet project specifications.
• Identify, evaluate and qualify suppliers, obtaining test reports for project‑specific orders.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQs and overall cost structures.
• Coordinate logistics with internal and external stakeholders to guarantee timely delivery to sites or warehouses.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction procurement, preferably with electrical and mechanical components.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
• Highly organised, able to manage the critical path from enquiry to delivery.
• IT literate and comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
