Senior Contracts Manager

About the role

Ford & Stanley is looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to lead the commercial management and administration of a portfolio of major infrastructure and corporate contracts within a large publicly funded programme. The role is hybrid, based in either Birmingham or London, and operates inside IR35.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contract administration for NEC‑style contracts across major infrastructure projects.
• Provide commercial assurance and governance support to senior stakeholders and project teams.
• Coach and mentor Contract Managers and Assistant Contract Managers.
• Identify, manage and resolve contractual issues, risks and disputes throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Drive change management activities, including drafting change instructions and overseeing related governance.
• Assess and negotiate compensation events, quotations and commercial submissions.
• Support business case development and ensure commercial implications are considered in decision‑making.
• Monitor supplier and consultant performance, spend and contractual compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing NEC contracts in large‑scale infrastructure programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proven track record of delivering value, governance and risk mitigation.
• Ability to work collaboratively across Procurement, Engineering, Legal, Programme Controls and Risk functions.
