Senior Controller – 12‑month contract

About the role

Our client, a leading real‑estate business in London, is seeking an experienced Senior Controller for a 12‑month temporary assignment. The role will be hybrid, combining office presence with remote work, and will report directly to the UK&I Controller.

Key responsibilities

• Own the integration roadmap for a specific business area, sequencing workstreams, managing dependencies and tracking milestones.
• Coordinate bonus, payroll and incentive accounting during the transition, working closely with HR, Reward and the Liability Controller.
• Drive standardisation of processes onto the standard chart of accounts, close calendar and reporting framework, partnering with the External Reporting Controller on COA mapping.
• Act as the senior controller for the business area, providing continuity, single‑point accountability and escalation handling for entity‑level matters.
• Review and challenge close work delivered by distributed teams and consolidate inputs into the UK & Ireland close.
• Document transition decisions, accountability shifts and process designs, and coach the wider controller team for hand‑over.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong control experience.
• Working knowledge of SOX and US GAAP, preferably gained in a large international organisation.
• Project‑oriented background with the ability to manage complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
• Immediate availability or one‑week notice.
