Senior Conveyancing Solicitor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Conveyancing Solicitor to lead the rebuild of a modern, efficient residential conveyancing department in Worthing. You will have full autonomy to design workflows, set quality standards and shape the team from the ground up while handling a balanced caseload of residential transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Run and supervise residential conveyancing files, including freehold, leasehold, new‑build and lender work.
• Design and continuously improve workflows, templates and compliance processes.
• Manage departmental risk and ensure all activities meet regulatory standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with estate agents and clients.
• Recruit, mentor and develop support staff as the department expands.
• Report directly to the Principal and contribute to commercial results.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ post‑qualification experience in residential conveyancing.
• Qualified Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer.
• Proven ability across a variety of transaction types.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of throughput and viability.
• Organised, process‑driven, calm and steady communicator.
• Confidence and professionalism without perfectionist bottlenecks.
• Ready to lead and take ownership of a department.
