Senior Credit Controller

About the role

LRG is seeking an energetic, customer‑focused Senior Credit Controller to lead a small team within its fast‑growing Credit Control department. You will own credit control activity for a designated region, deliver excellent service and drive performance against financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers in arrears regularly, challenge late payments and explain contractual liabilities, legal procedures and options.
• Drive regional performance by identifying improvement opportunities, addressing under‑performance and implementing collection strategies.
• Provide training, feedback and support to a small team of credit controllers, including new starters.
• Issue legal notices in line with legislation and internal procedures.
• Champion best‑practice guidelines for regulatory compliance, collections and complaint resolution.
• Achieve individual and regional financial targets and objectives.
• Investigate complex customer queries and complaints, ensuring thorough resolution within set timescales.
• Act as escalation point for the region, engaging senior stakeholders and attending regular inter‑departmental meetings.

Required profile

• Proven credit control experience with the ability to lead by example.
• Strong business acumen, problem‑solving skills and customer focus.
• Highly numerical and analytical with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
• Good level of IT knowledge.
