Senior Credit Risk Analyst

About the role

We are partnering with a high‑growth fintech lender that is reshaping how ambitious UK businesses access capital. As lending volumes scale, the team needs a commercially‑minded Senior Credit Risk Analyst to both evaluate opportunities and help build the underwriting engine that powers the business.

Key responsibilities

• Assess lending opportunities for SME businesses and make independent credit decisions.
• Design, enhance and maintain underwriting systems, risk models and decision‑making frameworks.
• Develop scalable processes that support rapid growth in loan volumes.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape credit strategy and policy.
• Provide genuine ownership and autonomy in evaluating credit risk.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of underwriting experience in SME lending, banking or fintech.
• Strong commercial mindset with a track record of independent decision‑making.
• Proactive attitude toward process improvement and building scalable solutions.
• Comfortable thriving in fast‑moving, high‑growth environments.
• Desire to have visible impact rather than being a cog in a large machine.
