Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading specialty insurance group, is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to boost its security engineering capability. You will be responsible for operationalising a sophisticated security tooling estate, closing remediation gaps and delivering audit‑ready evidence of control effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Operationalise and tune security platforms such as CrowdStrike Falcon (EDR & SIEM), Wiz CSPM for Azure and AWS, Mimecast and the Microsoft security stack.
• Tri­age and disposition alerts across SIEM and EDR tools, reducing backlog and improving detection fidelity.
• Implement and refine identity and access controls, including Conditional Access, privileged access management and credential hygiene.
• Execute vulnerability remediation backlog, coordinate patching and track compliance with defined SLAs.
• Produce secure configuration and compliance reports to support audit readiness.

Required profile

• Senior‑level hands‑on experience in cyber security engineering.
• Proven ability to work with infrastructure, IT operations, SOC providers and third‑party partners.
• Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and recognised security frameworks.
• Excellent analytical skills for investigating alerts and prioritising remediation.
