Senior Data Analyst – Business Surveys

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join the Business Data Operations Division of the Office for National Statistics. The division collects and validates economic survey data that underpins key UK statistics such as GDP.

Key responsibilities

• Build analytical pipelines for automated data processing and regular reporting.
• Lead the production of data and insight products, including Power BI data models.
• Develop and maintain robust quality‑control processes with automated testing.
• Create interactive visualisations to deliver actionable insights for business users.

Required profile

• Apply statistical and analytical techniques to generate insights and reports.
• Design, implement and document analytical code following best practices.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Produce inclusive, accessible data visualisations for multidisciplinary audiences.

• Python for data analysis.
• Power BI for data modelling and visualisation.
• Statistical analysis and quality assurance.

What we offer

• Salary range £41,985 – £47,121 per year.
