Senior Data Engineer - Data Warehouse

Job description
About the role
OneDome is a UK-based property technology company connecting homebuyers, estate agents, conveyancers and mortgage brokers. It holds a lot of customer data but very little of it can be queried in one place, and this is its first dedicated data engineering role. You will own the data warehouse and the pipelines that feed it, decide what the data platform looks like and become the person the business relies on for answers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the AWS-based data platform for a quickly scaling business.
- Build and own the data warehouse and the pipelines feeding it from product, CRM and third-party systems.
- Model data for analytics and reporting, keeping models tested and documented.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and technical direction across the platform.
- Ensure data quality, performance and scalability.
- Own data protection obligations in the pipelines, including retention, deletion and subject access requests.
- Collaborate with product managers, analysts and engineers across distributed teams, and use AI-powered engineering tools to speed delivery.
Required profile
- 5+ years of professional experience building and running production data pipelines end to end.
- Experience handling regulated personal data in the UK, including GDPR, retention and subject access requests.
- Strong communication skills in English; Russian is a plus.
Required skills
- Data warehouse design and modelling, including dimensional modelling, slowly changing dimensions and incremental/full-refresh builds.
- Redshift, or an equivalent columnar warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Production experience with dbt, including testing, documentation and CI.
- Strong SQL and strong Python.
- Relational and NoSQL databases, including Postgres (with JSONB) and DynamoDB or equivalent.
- AWS services: S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, EventBridge, Kinesis/Firehose, RDS, IAM and CloudWatch.
- Infrastructure automation and observability, including Terraform.
- Comfortable using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
Preferred: Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Dataverse extraction, BI tools such as Looker or Metabase, managed ingestion tools such as Fivetran or Airbyte, AWS certification, and mortgage, property or financial services experience.
What we offer
- 20 working days of paid vacation, with additional days off after the UK holiday calendar.
- Working hours of 9:00-17:00 London time.
- An international team spread across Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
