Senior Data Scientist – AI for Science & Research

About the role

As a Senior Data Scientist you will create advanced AI solutions that help researchers discover, understand and advance scientific knowledge. You will work on the full model lifecycle, from research and prototyping to production‑grade deployment, across a wide range of scientific data sources.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI, machine‑learning, NLP and generative‑AI solutions, including LLM‑powered applications, semantic search and retrieval‑augmented generation.
• Build and optimise research and decision‑support capabilities using embeddings, retrieval pipelines, knowledge graphs, ontologies and citation networks.
• Establish robust evaluation, experimentation and monitoring frameworks for relevance, grounding, hallucination detection and model performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and domain experts to productionise AI solutions and mentor junior data scientists.

Required profile

• Significant experience applying data‑science, machine‑learning, AI and NLP techniques to build scalable, production‑grade solutions.
• Advanced degree or equivalent practical expertise in a quantitative field.
• Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into reliable AI products and influence technical direction.
