Senior Dental Officer

About the role

The Senior Dental Officer will join the Public Dental Service at Sanquhar Health Centre, delivering high‑quality routine dental care to a registered cohort of around 1,800 local patients. This permanent position offers a flexible working pattern within a modern, purpose‑built health facility in the heart of South West Scotland.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental examinations, treatments and preventive care for registered patients.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with GDC standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to service development.
• Support the delivery of emergency dental care and referrals as needed.
• Engage in continuous professional development and education activities.

Required profile

• GDC‑registered dentist with a commitment to patient‑centred care.
• Experience in delivering routine dental services within a community setting.
• Willingness to work flexibly and collaborate with a supportive team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard dental clinical procedures.
• Ability to use modern dental equipment and technology.
