Senior Deputy Manager – Early Years Nursery

About the role

Are you an experienced Room Leader, Third in Charge or Deputy Manager who feels ready for more? This is an exciting time to join a thriving nursery as it prepares to open a brand‑new site nearby, offering fantastic new facilities and a larger, purpose‑designed space for children to learn, play and grow.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager with the smooth day‑to‑day running of the setting.
• Lead, motivate and support the nursery team.
• Step into the Acting Manager role when required.
• Mentor and supervise practitioners, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Assist with staff rotas, training requirements and performance reviews.
• Help maintain consistently high standards of care, learning and safeguarding.
• Support the nursery in meeting EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
• Support the nursery team through the transition into the new setting.

Required profile

• A Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years, or higher.
• Experience as a Room Leader, Third in Charge, Deputy Manager or similar leadership position.
• Confidence supporting and developing nursery staff.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Positive, hands‑on approach to leadership.
• Genuine passion for helping children and Early Years teams thrive.
