Senior Design Engineer - Dimensional Management

About the role

Join Airbus Belfast’s Dimensional Management team to deliver robust technical tolerancing solutions across aircraft structures and systems installation packages. You will guide designs from concept through to production detail and provide on‑shop‑floor support, balancing performance with cost‑effective manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Apply advanced tolerancing solutions and complex design toolsets to optimise performance and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Stress, Aerodynamics, Manufacturing and Quality teams in a digitalised environment.
• Provide rapid engineering dispositions for manufacturing defects and lead trade studies to meet quality standards and schedules.
• Coach and mentor junior design engineers, driving continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum HNC in an engineering discipline with at least 3 years of relevant design experience, preferably focused on Dimensional Management.
• Ability to analyse, propose and solve technical problems and work effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of ISO tolerances annotation, 1D/3D stack‑up analysis and MECAMASTER/3DCS toolsets.
• Experience with metallic and composite structures.
