Senior DevOps Engineer – London (Hybrid)

About the role

FDM Group, a global business and technology consultancy, is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a banking client on a 12‑month contract (with possible extension). The position is hybrid, based in London, and focuses on developing and supporting regulatory risk solutions across fixed income, currencies, commodities and equities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide DevOps expertise and leadership for large‑scale risk calculation plants.
• Support end‑of‑day and on‑demand risk generation, ensuring stability and resiliency.
• Plan and execute failovers in line with application and infrastructure requirements.
• Collaborate with developers, release management, Quartz DevOps, and infrastructure teams on weekday and weekend activities.
• Improve tooling, monitoring and automation to reduce manual operational effort.
• Act as regional point of contact as the SFRC / Risk Horizontal capability expands globally.

Required profile

• Experience with Python (or equivalent) for automation and tooling.
• Practical background in software development, testing, deployment and production support using agile methodologies.
• Understanding of large‑scale application plants, capacity management, resiliency, failover and operational stability.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills across application, infrastructure and batch processing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to work with technology, infrastructure and business stakeholders.
