Senior Digital Assets Software Engineer

About the role

Optiver is seeking a Senior Digital Assets Software Engineer to join its Digital Assets Tech Team in London. You will design, build and maintain high‑performance trading systems for cryptocurrency markets, working closely with traders and researchers in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement trading systems for digital‑asset markets.
• Develop and manage connectivity to centralised exchanges such as Binance, Deribit and OKX.
• Collaborate with traders and researchers to prototype and iterate on trading strategies.
• Improve system reliability through automation, monitoring and robust recovery mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot issues across trading systems and exchange integrations.
• Contribute to the overall architecture and shape the digital‑assets platform.
• Own production systems and drive continuous improvements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in trading, crypto or other real‑time systems.
• Strong C++ development background with a focus on reliable production code.
• Hands‑on experience integrating with centralised cryptocurrency exchanges.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, networking and failure handling.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
