Senior EC&I Engineer

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Senior EC&I Engineer for its team in Birchwood Park, Warrington. The engineer leads the CE&I electrical systems design for projects in the FEED pipeline, producing and checking engineering deliverables to support design from concept and preliminary phases, potentially into detail design, and assisting during installation and commissioning. The role provides technical support across all aspects of CE&I engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and take responsibility for the design aspects of the project, working with a small integrated design team against milestones.
• Contribute to multi-discipline design documentation such as Project Requirement Documents, Basis of Design, Project Verification Plans, Quality Plans and Design Justification Report.
• Determine project requirements independently and review and check design documents and CE&I deliverables produced by other engineers.
• Produce reports and documentation complying with CDM.
• Estimate hours for scope changes or additional works and outline supporting schedules.
• Support and contribute to Design Reviews.
• Interface with the Integrated Design Team, facility team (including systems engineering) and other project functions.

Required profile

• Significant demonstrable experience in CE&I project delivery, including delivering CE&I design packages and translating user requirements and technical specifications into safe, legal designs.
• Experience of space management, panel layouts, cable routing, cable management and cable calculations.
• Ability to work in an integrated delivery team and individually under tight time constraints.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Process Instrumentation Design and Electrical Power and Services Design at LV.
• Knowledge of CE&I functional safety systems and application of Sellafield ES 2190.
• Radiometric instruments, such as gamma monitors.
• Understanding of deliverables and design processes for each CE&I area, especially in front-end scoping and early delivery strategy.
• Delivery within the SL Management System and estimation and scheduling of progress reporting.
