Senior EICA Engineer – Water Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior EICA Engineer to support major UK water framework projects. You will provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from design through commissioning, ensuring solutions are compliant and commercially effective.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality EICA design documentation in line with client specifications and industry standards.
• Produce electrical, control and instrumentation designs (outline and detailed).
• Conduct site surveys and provide technical input during project delivery.
• Attend and report on Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
• Review and approve subcontractor designs.
• Prepare equipment specifications, requisitions and installation scopes of work.
• Conduct technical bid assessments.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation and standards, including WIMES.
• Provide support during construction and commissioning phases.

Required profile

• Significant experience on UK water sector projects.
• Strong background in EICA, electrical or control engineering.
• Knowledge of WIMES standards and UK engineering regulations.
• Experience working in hazardous (ATEX) areas and with CE marking directives (ATEX, PED, Low Voltage, Machinery, EMC).
• Proven involvement in FAT and commissioning activities across the full project lifecycle.
• Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering (or equivalent); apprenticeship route considered with relevant experience.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership abilities.
• Proactive, self‑motivated with a strong focus on safety, risk management and quality.
