Senior Electrical Design Engineer – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team at Samlesbury Aerodrome on a 12‑month contract. You will develop the physical product definition for air‑frame systems, balancing safety, cost, manufacturing and support considerations. The role uses CATIA V5 in both 3‑D and 2‑D environments.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, suppliers and customers to develop integrated product solutions.
• Produce and issue air‑frame engineering design data in line with project standards, maintaining quality, cost and schedule.
• Verify design data before independent checks and ensure compliance with functional and safety requirements.
• Identify technical risks and opportunities and propose mitigation plans.
• Resolve design queries, generate modifications and support change management.
• Support personal and professional development of yourself and team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience in air‑frame design or a closely related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience across one or more phases of the product lifecycle.
• Recent use of CATIA V5 for electrical design.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and adhere to project schedules.
• Willingness to work on‑site 2‑3 days per week at Samlesbury.
