Senior Electrical Engineer – Design & Controls

About the role

ARCA Resourcing is partnering with a fast‑growing clean‑energy technology business. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead electrical design and controls development for next‑generation power solutions, covering feasibility, architecture, testing and commissioning in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering activities and deliverables across multiple projects.
• Define and agree electrical scope of work within project teams.
• Conduct system‑level trade studies and develop electrical architectures.
• Produce single‑line diagrams, wiring schematics and detailed electrical designs.
• Specify and select transformers, motors, circuit protection and wiring components.
• Generate manufacturing and compliance documentation for electrical systems.
• Support integration, testing, validation and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists to ensure successful product integration.
• Participate in safety and risk review activities and ensure compliance with health & safety standards.
• Mentor and support junior engineers.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience designing electrical systems in industrial or process environments.
• Knowledge of BS7671:2018 and EN 60204 standards.
• Experience with PLC hardware selection and configuration, particularly Siemens systems.
