Senior Electronics Engineer – Hybrid – £60‑75k

About the role
We are seeking a senior electronics engineer to lead the design of medical‑grade computing devices in Bristol. The role combines hands‑on circuit and PCB development with system architecture and firmware integration, delivering hardware that improves patients’ lives worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Define and own the hardware architecture for complex electronic subsystems.
- Design analogue, digital and power circuits, review and optimise PCB layouts.
- Build and test prototypes, integrating embedded firmware written in C/C++.
- Ensure compliance with medical and safety standards (e.g., IEC 60601, EMC).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including production, quality and external manufacturers.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best engineering practices.
Required profile
- Proven experience in analogue, digital and power electronics design.
- Hands‑on expertise in PCB and circuit design for regulated products.
- Strong background in embedded firmware development using C/C++ and RTOS.
- Familiarity with medical‑device regulations and standards such as IEC 60601 and EMC.
- Ability to balance technical quality, cost and manufacturability.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
