Senior Emergency Medicine Doctor (Locally Employed)

About the role
Join the Emergency Medicine team at Wythenshawe Hospital, one of Greater Manchester’s busiest A&E departments. The role is a short‑term, locally employed senior doctor position offering high clinical autonomy across adult and paediatric emergencies.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and manage adult and paediatric emergency presentations, including critically ill and injured patients.
- Supervise junior colleagues and undertake middle‑grade responsibilities.
- Contribute to departmental leadership, patient flow, and quality‑improvement activities.
- Participate in regular simulation sessions, ultrasound training and consultant‑led teaching.
Required profile
- Current GMC registration (active, ceased or pending) at the time of application.
- ST4+ level experience or equivalent, with substantial NHS background.
- Proven ability to work autonomously in a high‑volume emergency setting.
- Motivation to deliver high‑quality emergency care and support departmental goals.
