Senior Energy Consultant – Low Energy Buildings

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Energy Consultant to lead our Low Energy Building Design team in Wilmslow. The role will support the delivery of projects that help the UK meet its 2050 Net Zero Carbon targets for buildings, working in a hybrid model with three days in the office and two days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Low Energy Building Design team and define design strategy.
• Produce and update Low Energy Building designs across RIBA stages 1‑4.
• Support Building Services design and coordinate with the services team.
• Assist construction phases (RIBA stages 5‑6) and project management.
• Mentor junior, graduate and placement energy consultants.
• Provide expert advice on low‑energy design and review consultants and contractors.
• Develop and improve internal technical systems and maintain client, supplier and expert relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in low‑energy building design or energy consulting.
• At least 3 years in a senior position.
• Member (or candidate) of a recognised professional body.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental or sustainability disciplines.
