About the role

Checkout.com is seeking a Senior Engineer I to join its Payments Engineering Operations team. You will work at the intersection of multiple engineering groups, focusing on scaling efficiency across the development lifecycle and ensuring that automation aligns with long‑term architectural health.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify manual, repetitive tasks and transform them into automated solutions.
• Scale efficiency throughout the development lifecycle while aligning tactical fixes with broader architectural strategy.
• Mentor and coach team members to spot optimization opportunities and implement high‑quality solutions.
• Design flexible, scalable systems that integrate smoothly within a micro‑services ecosystem.
• Own, operate, and continuously improve the resilience and service level of the systems you build.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
• Ability to see the big picture and translate strategic goals into concrete technical actions.
