Senior Engineering Manager

About the role

Monzo is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead multiple squads within a fast‑growing engineering organisation. You will manage managers, tech leads and senior engineers, shaping the delivery of mission‑driven products for millions of UK customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a group of 20‑30 engineers across several cross‑functional squads.
• Partner with Product Managers and Technical Leads to define and deliver product roadmaps.
• Build new squads as the business expands, hiring and onboarding talent.
• Ensure high standards of engineering excellence, operational reliability and technical quality.
• Foster an inclusive, high‑performance culture and support career growth for engineers.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing engineering teams, including managers and senior engineers.
• Strong background as a software engineer with a proven delivery track record.
• Ability to take ownership of delivery outcomes and drive execution across squads.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
