Senior Enterprise Architect (Digital, Data & Technology)

About the role

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise‑wide solutions across its digital, data and technology (DDaT) portfolio. You will work closely with civil servants, contractors and external partners to translate strategic objectives into concrete architectural designs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise‑level as‑is and target architecture models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across government departments and international partners to shape end‑to‑end solutions.
• Identify risks, influences and mitigation strategies to protect architectural integrity.
• Conduct horizon scanning of emerging technologies and incorporate them into target architectures.
• Support Lead Architects in aligning the organisation’s strategic direction with technical delivery.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in enterprise architecture within complex, multi‑agency environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills to model current and future state architectures.
• Experience working with government or defence organisations is advantageous.
