Senior Estimator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a leading national construction business at their Swindon depot. You will work closely with the Bid Manager and design team to deliver accurate, competitive cost proposals for a variety of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company governance and working rule agreements.
• Collaborate with the Bid Manager to develop competitive pricing strategies.
• Prepare detailed quantity take‑offs and develop local and build‑up rates for self‑delivered items.
• Produce scheme‑specific labour rate calculations and material comparison sheets.
• Liaise with procurement, planners and subcontractors to select suppliers, obtain quotations and verify compliance.
• Coordinate temporary works requirements and cost estimates with the Technical Services team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior estimator within the construction sector.
• Strong understanding of UK construction standards, including London Living Wage requirements.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining close coordination with bid and design teams.
