Senior Facilities Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer to lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all plant facilities, utilities and building services for a forward‑thinking electronics manufacturer in Tewkesbury. You will be the technical hub for maintaining critical infrastructure and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of electrical distribution, compressed air, extraction, HVAC, chilled water, effluent treatment and other process support equipment.
• Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to minimise downtime.
• Drive energy‑efficiency, environmental performance and utility optimisation initiatives.
• Coordinate reactive maintenance, contractor activities, permits to work, RAMS reviews and performance monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with statutory inspections, certifications and regulatory requirements (electrical testing, pressure systems, fire safety, lifting equipment, environmental controls).
• Support CAPEX projects such as equipment installation, layout changes, utility upgrades and process improvements.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Process Engineering, HSE and Quality teams to meet manufacturing objectives.
• Maintain accurate records, asset registers and compliance logs, and assist with emergency response and business continuity planning.

Required profile

• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in facilities or plant engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead maintenance programmes and manage multi‑disciplinary contractor teams.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
