About the role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Finance Business Partner to join a high‑performing finance team. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, you will provide expert financial leadership, partner with operational and non‑operational teams, and influence business performance across a complex organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a trusted finance business partner to senior leaders and operational managers.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts and financial performance reporting.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Develop and monitor cost improvement and savings initiatives, providing challenge and support where required.
- Prepare, review, and evaluate business cases, ensuring financial implications are clearly understood.
- Support costing and pricing activities for existing and new services.
- Lead financial modelling and analytical work to support strategic decision‑making.
- Oversee procurement and contract management processes, ensuring value for money and compliance.
- Deliver insightful financial reports and presentations to senior leadership teams and governance committees.
- Develop robust financial controls, reporting systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop Finance Business Partners and wider finance team members.
Required profile
- Fully qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant with current professional membership.
- Significant post‑qualification experience in financial management and business partnering within a large, complex organisation.
- Proven people‑management and leadership experience.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience supporting operational decision‑making.
- Demonstrable experience in budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and financial control.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to influence and challenge constructively at senior management level.
