Senior Finance Manager – Liverpool

About the role

This senior finance position is based in Liverpool City Centre and reports directly to the Finance Director. You will own day‑to‑day financial operations, providing accurate insight and control while supporting the business’s growth and development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a small finance team.
• Produce monthly management accounts with insightful analysis.
• Maintain accurate financial records and perform regular balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage cashflow, oversee debt and resolve complex issues.
• Support operational teams with billing processes and fee forecasting.
• Review project performance, analysing profitability and future work pipelines.
• Respond to financial queries relating to projects and contracts.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Support year‑end processes and ensure statutory compliance.
• Supervise and develop junior team members.
• Drive continuous improvement through process enhancements and projects.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE.
• Experience in an industry or fast‑paced commercial environment.
• Strong grounding in accounting principles, VAT and financial controls.
• Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail with confidence to challenge where needed.
• Effective communicator comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels.
